Bestiary is a local-first app. Your data — workouts, meals, body weight, sleep, settings — is stored on your device. We do not require an account, we do not run a database of your data, we do not show ads, and we do not sell your data. The only time information leaves your device is when you use an optional feature that needs the internet (the AI features and food look-ups), as described below.
All of the following is stored only on your device (local storage) and is never automatically sent to us:
You can export all of this at any time as a backup file, and import it back. The backup file stays under your control.
a) AI features — third-party AI (Anthropic). Some optional features use artificial intelligence: structuring a pasted routine, the meal chat, exercise substitution, mapping exercises to muscles, and the 360° AI Coach. These send a request through our serverless proxy to Anthropic's Claude API (a third-party AI provider).
b) Food look-ups. When you search for a food, the app sends the food name to nutrition databases — USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts — to retrieve verified nutritional values. The calorie/macro math is done by the app, not by AI. No personal data is sent with these look-ups.
Bestiary Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's App Store / Google Play. Payments and billing are handled by Apple/Google, not by us; we do not receive or store your payment details. Their privacy terms apply to the transaction.
Because your data lives on your device, you control it: use "Reset data" in the app, or uninstall the app, to delete it. Since we do not keep a server-side copy of your personal data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. (Our proxy does not retain request content.)
Bestiary is intended for a general adult fitness audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. An appropriate age rating is set on each store.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for the optional AI processing is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings (this stops future AI requests). Because your personal data is stored locally and we do not hold it on a server, we generally cannot access, correct or export it on your behalf — but you can do all of this directly in the app (export/import/reset). We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.

Bestiary è un'app local-first. I tuoi dati — allenamenti, pasti, peso, sonno, impostazioni — sono salvati sul tuo dispositivo. Non richiediamo un account, non teniamo un database dei tuoi dati, non mostriamo pubblicità e non vendiamo i tuoi dati. Le informazioni escono dal dispositivo solo quando sei tu a usare una funzione facoltativa che richiede internet (le funzioni IA e la ricerca alimenti), come spiegato sotto.
Tutto quanto segue è salvato solo sul tuo dispositivo (memoria locale) e non ci viene mai inviato automaticamente:
Puoi esportare tutto in qualsiasi momento come file di backup e re-importarlo. Il file di backup resta sotto il tuo controllo.
a) Funzioni IA — IA di terze parti (Anthropic). Alcune funzioni facoltative usano l'intelligenza artificiale: strutturare una scheda incollata, la chat dei pasti, la sostituzione esercizi, l'associazione esercizio→muscoli e il Coach IA 360°. Inviano una richiesta, tramite il nostro proxy serverless, all'API Claude di Anthropic (fornitore IA di terze parti).
b) Ricerca alimenti. Quando cerchi un alimento, l'app invia il nome dell'alimento ai database nutrizionali — USDA FoodData Central e Open Food Facts — per ottenere valori nutrizionali verificati. Il calcolo di calorie/macro lo fa l'app, non l'IA. Con queste ricerche non viene inviato alcun dato personale.
Bestiary Premium è un abbonamento a rinnovo automatico venduto tramite App Store di Apple / Google Play. Pagamenti e fatturazione sono gestiti da Apple/Google, non da noi; non riceviamo né conserviamo i dati di pagamento. Per la transazione valgono i loro termini sulla privacy.
Poiché i tuoi dati vivono sul dispositivo, li controlli tu: usa "Reset dati" nell'app, oppure disinstalla l'app, per cancellarli. Non conservando una copia server dei tuoi dati personali, non c'è nulla da cancellare dalla nostra parte. (Il proxy non trattiene il contenuto delle richieste.)
Bestiary è pensata per un pubblico fitness adulto e non è rivolta a minori. Non raccogliamo consapevolmente dati di minori. Su ogni store è impostata una classificazione d'età adeguata.
Dove si applica il GDPR, la base giuridica del trattamento IA facoltativo è il tuo consenso, revocabile in ogni momento dalle Impostazioni (interrompe le future richieste IA). Poiché i tuoi dati personali sono salvati localmente e non li deteniamo su un server, in generale non possiamo accedervi, correggerli o esportarli per tuo conto — ma puoi farlo tutto direttamente nell'app (esporta/importa/reset).
